Metropolitan Acupuncture

     I grew up in Minneapolis in a family with a very strong medical background. I always dreamed of a career in medicine and of being able to make a difference in people's lives.

     In my early 30s, while participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day event, a sudden health occurrence altered my path. I woke up on the third day with severe back pain and was unable to walk more than a few steps without collapsing. Over the next couple of years, I tried many different modalities of care to try to restore full function to my legs and to decrease my pain, but nothing seemed to work. I had to take medication every day just to function and couldn’t even walk up the stairs or carry groceries without fear of falling.

     I had nearly given up hope of ever being normal again, when my back specialist referred me to an acupuncturist. Within three visits, there was a significant improvement in my mobility. By the sixth visit, I was able to stop taking pain medication. I realized that I had found my calling.

    In August of 2012, I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture. I am also certified in Reiki I and II and have a certification in Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture.

    I do this because I really care about people and I want everyone to be able to have a chance to recover the way I did. I believe that when we both care about your health, we can make amazing things happen!
