Bethany Ranney, L.Ac., M.Ac.

I grew up in Minneapolis in a family with a very strong medical background.  As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a doctor.  Life happens, and, at 19, I began raising my family.  I spent some time volunteering at a local hospital during those years, and still dreamed of a career in medicine and of helping people.

In my early 30’s, I had an incident while I was participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day.  I woke up on day three and my legs wouldn’t work properly and I had severe back pain.  Over the next couple of years, I tried many different modalities of care to try to restore full function to my legs and to decrease my pain, but nothing seemed to work.  I had to take medication every day just to function through my pain and couldn’t even walk up the stairs or carry groceries without fear of falling.

I had nearly given up hope of ever being normal again, when my back specialist referred me to an acupuncturist.  Within three visits, I had improved significantly and was able to stop taking pain medication.  I realized that I had found my career in health care.

I began the 3-year masters program at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.  I graduated, magna cum laude, in August of 2012 with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture.  I have also completed training with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield and have been certified in Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture.

I do this because I really care about people and I want everyone to be able to have a chance to recover the way I did.  I believe that when we both care about your health, we can make amazing things happen!

Our Clinic

Metropolitan Acupuncture Professionals was created with the mission of helping patients get the care they need, while not getting stuck with, yet another, practitioner that they need to keep seeing forever.

Acupuncture is not a magic bullet that will fix you in one shot.  It may take a number of treatments, initially, to get to the root of your problem, but we want to see you go on your way as quickly as possible.  Our goal is to help you get healthy, so you don't have to come see us anymore.

Losing patients may seem like a poor business plan, but we believe that great results in our "old" patients will keep "new" patients coming for years to come.

I never would have believed how much pain relief could come from a few little 'well placed' studs in my ears. Couldn't have pain medicine after my bowel surgery and was in horrible pain. Within 15 minutes of my treatment, I was up walking in the hospital halls. Bethany really knows what she's doing!
