Metropolitan Acupuncture may use one or more of the following services at your appointment:

Acupuncture- Fine needles are inserted in various points in your body to help balance and regulate the flow of energy.
Auricular Acupuncture/Acupressure- Fine needles or beads are used on the ears, which correspond to various areas in the body.
Electrical Stimulation- This modality can be used with both millicurrent and microcurrent.
- Millicurrent therapy is used by attaching clips to inserted acupuncture needles. This increases blood flow to the area to reduce inflammation and stimulates the release of endorphins for pain relief.
- In microcurrent therapy, a small probe is moved over the skin to help stimulate healing of tissues and regeneration of collagen. This is often used in facial rejuvenation therapy to help treat wrinkles and fine lines as well as underlying muscle.
Tuina/Acupressure- Massage and pressure is used to stimulate the same areas without the use of needles.
GuaSha- Tools are used to rub or lightly scrape the skin to help to regulate blood flow.
Cupping- Glass cups are used to create suction on the skin, which can be used to release muscles and fascia while stimulating circulation. Treatment will leave a painless, circular bruise.
Nutritional/Food Therapy- Recommendations of foods that may be added or removed from the diet to optimize health.
